Not everything seen with a camera needs to be named or explained. This collection gathers images made when the subject became secondary — where I saw shadows, colors and juxtapositions that made me stop and observe, where a common scene looked like something closer to a still life painting than just a cursory glimpse down an alleyway. These are the images that happen between the other images, when attention wanders toward form and away from story.
