About
Rich Ray Strong
I am an American photographer based in Thailand and the USA, working primarily in documentary photography and environmental portraiture. I have been passionate about photography for the past 25 years, and after retiring from a long career in technology, I'm excited to have the opportunity to focus on my own photographic vision.
I am drawn to the people who are easy to overlook — the small working communities that keep my neighborhood running. Examples include construction crews, street-food cooks, beach vendors, delivery folks and fishermen. I try to show the lives of the people in those communities on their own terms, and that means building relationships and trust over time.
This site shows several ongoing community projects, along with more formal work built on line, form, color and contrast.
